1 Month Out

Most of the swelling has gone down, but from the front you can still see that it is pretty swollen. From the side it is not as straight as it seemed the first few weeks (there is a small bump), but maybe that is because of the swelling still. I can almost smile my full normal smile now.
Apparently my body does not want to dissolve the stitches. I had to go back yet again!!!! to have 2 more stitches removed that I found when doing some cleaning in there. They were locked behind a booger wall. It was awful getting these ones removed because they were pretty far back and uncooperative. I actually had tears streaming down my face and I was shaking. That was the 4th time I had to go back for stitch removal so far and it should have been only twice. The Doc. said it was somewhat common to miss them in the first couple post op exams so I guess that makes me feel better.
I still have some numbness in the tip of my nose, but my teeth don't hurt much anymore and the dull pain of my nose is almost gone. Laughing, smiling, and licking my lips is still strange. I feel like my nose is like just stuck to my face, like it is a completely foreign object. Feeling it with my hand gives me the same sensation. It feels so small in my hand.
I think the biggest difference in my appearance is definitely in the shape f the tip. I used to have more like a beak shaped nose but now it is much more of a triangle shape. Many people who didn't know about the surgery seem to not really notice the change which is great! I was wondering if I would get allot of weird looks or that people would ask and I would have to either explain lie.
I am still delicately cleaning up there with the help of lighted tweezers, and Q tips.
Every so often, about 10 times a day, I get a twinge of pain somewhere in my nose. I suppose that is all part of the healing process. I am back to all my normal activities and have been for 2 weeks now. I can't believe the progression of this nose. When I look back to the week 2 pics and see how swollen it was, or to see me with the black swollen eyes during week 1, I just cant believe it was literally only 1 month ago (minus 1 day) that I was sitting in the surgery room, waiting to go under the knife.
Strangely, I think my new nose makes my cheekbones seem more prominent, especially from the side.
